With his extensive family background in home building, Jonathan Pettus, a Florida state certified general contractor, has mastered residential and commercial renovation in addition to restoration and preservation of historical buildings and cultural institutions.

Jonathan started in the trades at an early age, working with his father, a custom home builder in Rowayton, Connecticut. Moving to Boston in his late teens, Jonathan honed his skills restoring back bay townhouses learning and using traditional plaster and woodworking techniques. Jonathan then co-founded Everett Magill Inc, a high end kitchen and bath contracting company with as many as seventeen employees, working in some of the finest homes in the greater Boston area. Jonathan met and married Alene, and relocated to Florida to build their lives together, as well as grow Architectural Painting and Renovation, Inc.

Loving a challenge, Jonathan approaches each project with enthusiasm, honesty and integrity. Jonathan's strength is in project management culled from decades of construction experience with small and large jobs, ensuring that each job goes as smoothly as possible regardless of how sophisticated it is. Whether it’s repainting a museum gallery, restoring a theater ceiling, designing a kitchen addition or building custom cabinetry, his hands-on approach assures designs that are as beautiful as they are well-built.

Jonathan’s creativity runs deep and his passions include writing and performing music. As an accomplished musician Jonathan enjoys performing the bass guitar with a number of bands in Sarasota.
